Hi All,
The past few months have been punishing to say the least. The coronavirus has been spreading and the cases are increasing in Melbourne, which has made matters worse for the people. The lockdown and other restrictions have made it impossible to continue with the daily routine. The livelihood of several non-essential business owners has been at stake and thousands of people have lost their jobs. I am one of those people who have to suffer because of a pay cut. I work in a construction company, which has been witnessing declining sales, and have to bear the brunt of the situation. It has been a distressing time for my family as we are unable to meet our monthly expenses. I live in a rented property for the past ten years and have a fixed-term agreement with my landlord. However, I have been unable to pay the rent for the last two months and have discussed my case with the landlord. He was considerate and asked me to sign a new agreement where the rent is reduced. I was still sceptical whether I would be able to pay the reduced amount or not. However, he told me about applying for the rent relief grant. I readily agreed and we created a new agreement and he got $2000 on my behalf into his account. I was relieved and understood that the new laws are actually advantageous. If you too want to know about these regulations, then take a look at the article shared below. https://www.bondcleaninginmelbourne.com.au/new-temporary-laws-to-protect-tenants-landlords-rights-during-covid-19/
